ITB Berlin 2024, held earlier this month from March 5th to 7th, served as a significant platform for the global travel industry.
Focus on Transformation:
The theme, “Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together,” reflected the industry’s current focus on adapting to a post-pandemic landscape. Discussions centered around sustainability, technological advancements, and navigating the evolving travel market.
Key Highlights:
- Attendance: Over 24,000 industry professionals participated across 4 stages, discussing various aspects of travel through 17 thematic tracks.
- Sri Lanka in Spotlight: Sri Lanka Tourism unveiled its new destination positioning and logo, aiming to leverage the event’s global reach.
- Media Attention: The event drew significant media interest, with around 3,000 journalists and 333 bloggers present.
This year, NKAR’s managing director, Mr. Nilmin Nanayakkara and Manager – Marketing Mr. Brian Wimalasinghe represented the company at the Sri Lanka Tourism Stall. NKAR has been a consistent partner of ITB Berlin for the past 16 years.
